Fitness, or physical activity, is important in so many ways, for so many people.
- Stress Relief
- Mental Health
- Bones and muscle strengthening
- Weight Loss/Gain/Control
- Illness/Disease Reduction or Prevention Cardiovascular Disease, Type 2 Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome, and some types of cancer
- Improve ability to do activities and prevent falls (older adults)
The particular fitness activity or activities you choose are up to you and your ability to perform them. Some of my favorite activities including walking and bowling. As always, consult with a medical professional before starting any activity or routine, to ensure that it is appropriate for you and your desired outcome.
The word exercise can be seen as an ugly word by some, but it simply describes an activity. If you like, substitute Physical Activity. I know that’s what I tend to do.
